Temple Executive Search announces new major hire: Susan Redden Makatoa joins as Division Director, Corporate
Temple Executive Search today announced that one of Australia’s leading corporate communications practitioners, Susan Redden Makatoa, will lead the Corporate arm of its Corporate Affairs and Communications Executive Search business.
She joins founders, Rebecca Tabakoff and Ross Thornton; Board Members Gabrielle Trainor (Chair), Brian Tyson, and Yaron Finkelstein; Melbourne Directors Lisa Keenan and Kate Inverarity (Nightingale Communications); and Division Director, Government and Infrastructure Shoshana Wall in the only Executive Search business entirely staffed by corporate affairs practitioners.
Susan is currently Group Managing Director – Corporate for Ogilvy Public Relations, where she is responsible for overseeing public affairs agency Parker & Partners, employee engagement firm Ogilvy Impact and the Issues & Crisis Unit.
Last year Susan was awarded the 2016 PRIA President’s Award for major industry contribution and she was appointed Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Australia in 2015, capping a 20 year career in the industry.
Chair of Temple Executive Search Gabrielle Trainor said: “We are thrilled to have attracted a person of Susan’s calibre to Temple Executive Search.
“Never has it been so important to have the right people in the right places at senior levels to manage how businesses and organisations engage with their customers and suppliers, governments and communities, the media, investors and markets and their own staff.
“Our senior team and the board have unique insights into the complexities of contemporary corporate affairs, communications, stakeholder engagement and public policy roles and what it takes to succeed.
Redden Makatoa said she was excited about joining Temple because of its unique business model but also because of it’s commitment to developing the Corporate Affairs function.
“The Temple team are all practitioners with deep experience who are all highly respected in the market – from investor relations and financial communications to government relations, issues and crisis management and community engagement, she said. “I knew I was joining a substantial business that was going to effect real change in the industry.
“Temple clearly demonstrated to me that they are committed to building the capacity and reputation of corporate communications in Australia. From their deep commitment to candidate care to their ongoing professional development program, this is a business with a purpose I want to be part of.”
